Brilliant Basics is an AI-powered tool that automatically analyzes creative assets and scores them based on a set of key attributes associated with effective advertising. Its purpose is to help you understand the strengths and improvement opportunities of each creative, making it easier to compare assets and optimize future campaigns.
Once the analysis is complete, Brilliant Basics displays a radar chart with the score for each evaluated attribute, along with an overall score out of 10.
How does it work?
Brilliant Basics automatically analyzes the visual content of your creative.
Depending on the asset type, the AI evaluates different aspects:
Images
Videos (including audio analysis and the first few seconds of the content)
In addition to the creative score, the tool automatically identifies information such as:
Content description
Logo presence
People or influencers
Dominant colors
Visible text
Aspect ratio
Detected emotions
Promotions or discounts
Product value highlights
For videos, Brilliant Basics also analyzes:
Duration
Background music
Speech or narration
Spoken dialogue transcription
Whether the logo appears within the first three seconds
Understanding the radar chart
Each axis of the radar chart represents one of the evaluated creative attributes.
Scores range from 0 to 10, where:
0 indicates that the attribute is not present or barely present.
10 indicates excellent performance for that attribute.
The score displayed in the center represents the creative's overall rating.
Evaluated attributes
Early Attention Signal
Measures how effectively the creative captures the viewer's attention during the first few seconds.
A higher score indicates a stronger visual hook.
Rapid Comprehension
Evaluates how quickly and clearly viewers understand the creative's main message.
High-performing creatives communicate their message almost instantly.
Product Recognition
Measures how visible and recognizable the product or brand is within the creative.
The more prominent the product, the higher the score.
Product Demonstration
Evaluates how effectively the creative shows how the product works or communicates its benefits.
Simply displaying the product is not enough—demonstrating its value leads to higher scores.
Mobile-first Design
Measures how well the creative is optimized for mobile viewing.
This includes factors such as:
Layout
Visual hierarchy
Element sizing
Readability
Hook Variability
Measures the amount of visual variation and pacing during the first few seconds of the creative.
Changes in scenes, movement, rhythm, and visual depth contribute to higher scores.

Measures how well the creative incorporates language, people, settings, or symbols that resonate with its target audience.
Platform-native Style
Evaluates how naturally the creative fits platforms such as:

YouTube Shorts
Content that feels native to the platform typically receives higher scores.
Sound Relevance (Videos only)
Measures how effectively the audio enhances the overall creative.
This may include:
Music
Voice-over
Sound effects
For images, the analysis determines whether the absence of audio negatively impacts the content.
Social Cues
Evaluates the presence of human interaction, including:
People interacting
Gestures
Facial expressions
Eye contact
Social behaviors
Emotional Activation
Measures the creative's ability to evoke emotions such as:
Joy

Humor
Text Legibility & Density
Evaluates:
Text size
Contrast
Clarity
Amount of text displayed
Creatives with concise, well-organized, and easy-to-read text receive higher scores.
How to interpret the score
There is no "pass" or "fail" score in Brilliant Basics. Instead, the tool is designed as a comparative benchmark to help evaluate and improve creative quality over time.
As a general guideline:
Score | Interpretation |
8–10 | Excellent performance for that attribute. |
6–7.9 | Good performance with room for optimization. |
4–5.9 | The attribute is present but could be strengthened. |
0–3.9 | The attribute is weak or largely absent. |
The greatest value comes from comparing multiple creatives to identify which characteristics are shared by the highest-performing assets and using those insights to improve future creative production.
