When reporting the results of your queries, the geographic location of mentions is a key factor in revealing important details about your audience.

A single mention can be relevant to multiple geographic locations. Therefore, to provide a more accurate and complete analysis, our system allows you to effectively map multiple locations to a single mention.

Methods of location detection

  • Domain or profile review: We analyze the website domain or location registered in the user profile to determine the location.

Please note that this location is determined by factors such as the site’s IP, the country from which the user is posting the mention, the use of publishing systems or software, or the country where the social media profile was created or is being managed.

  • Textual clue search: Our system is able to identify mentions of specific locations in the textual content, allowing us to assign the correct location.

Keep in mind that a single mention may be assigned to multiple locations if the system detects that the user is using language specific to a certain country or region, while their profile or the mention itself was created in a different place.

These combined methods allow us to identify if a mention is relevant to more than one geographic location, ensuring that no mention important to the location you are analyzing is omitted, giving you a more complete and detailed picture.

Location filter

If you edit your query and go to the «Filters» tab, you can track specific locations using the first line of the dialog box. The second row allows you to exclude countries whose mentions are not relevant to your query.

This allows you to refine your search criteria. 👌🏻
